Nota Ringkas Pemakanan Anak- Anak

 NOTA RINGKAS PEMAKANAN ANAK

1) For starters, makesure your baby is ready to eat solid food. Not all babies will start to eat at 6mo. If your baby is not interested with his food, no worries. Mine starts to eat at 8mo. Jangan paksa anak makan, you can try feeding him again hari baru or minggu baru. If he eats 1baby spoon, it's ok, jangan paksa. Human babies will not starve themselve. Cuba lagi the next day. Feeding babies ni memang memerlukan kesabaran yang tinggi.


2) Bila bagi makan, always always makesure the baby is in sitting position. Jangan bagi makan sambil baring. (I heard stories yang ada BS buat ni and ada mummy buat ni jugak). Please jangan buat, takut anak tercekik. B y the way if your baby's neck is not strong enough to hold his own head, it means your baby is not really ready to eat solid food.


3) Bila dah start bagi makan, always offer your baby some water. Air masak ye, bukan air manis, bukan air campur madu or apa apa saje. Please introduce your baby to plain water. BF babies also need to drink water bila dah start makan.


4) Untuk permulaan, baby will eat around 1oz - 2oz of food. Once daily. After few weeks (1month) maybe boleh upkan to twice daily, and if baby shows that he needs more food, boleh tambah sikit lagi food. Starting at 8mo usually baby will eat 3 times a day. Then bila dah besar sikit you can introduce snack, finger food. Time makan is up to you, but for dinner, lagi elok bagi baby siap makan before maghrib or before pukul 7. Baby yang makan awal dinner, will usually sleep earlier. (Tried and tested)


5) Setiap kali introduce makanan baru (sayur ke buah ke bijirin ke meat/fish or etc) please follow the 4 days rule. 4 days rule ni, contohnya you start to intro apple puree on the first day, then the next day pon bagi apple puree gak, then sama jugak on the third day and forth day. Tujuan 4days rule ni adalah untuk detect makanan mana yang tak sesuai with your baby (allergic, sembelit, cirit birit).


6) Kalau anak sembelit, boleh try P fruits/veggies (Plum, Prune, Pumpkin, Peach, Papaya). Makesure anak dah pass 4 days rule and sesuai dengan umur anak.


7) Kalau anak kena cirit birit boleh try BRAT ( banana, rice, applesauce -apple puree, toast) Makesure anak dah pass 4days rule and sesuai dengan umur anak.


8) For purees, nak buat stock untuk seminggu or dua pon boleh, Frozen kan, Handle frozen puree or chilled puree sama macam handle EBM.


9) Salt and Sugar are a BIG NO NO for babies below 2yo.
